Microsoft Exchange Mac App
Symptom
You cannot set the default chat app to Skype for Business in Microsoft Outlook for Mac because the default value is set to another app (for example, Microsoft Teams).

To work around this issue, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the following location:
~Library/Preferences/com.apple.LaunchServices/com.apple.launchservices.secure.plist. - Locate the LSHandlerURLScheme sip under the Root/LSHandlers/Item array and verify that LSHandlerRoleAll refers to an app other than com.microsoft.skypeforbusiness.
- Change LSHandlerRoleAll to com.microsoft.skypeforbusiness.
- Restart the computer.
- In Outlook, hover the cursor over the contact, and then select the IM button to verify that the Skype for Business app starts.
Alternatively, you may be able to use Workgroup Manager by getting support from Apple to avoid configuring LSHandlerRoleAll on a per-user basis. For more information, see the Client Management documentation in the Mac OS X Server area of the Apple website (www.apple.com/server).
- Quit Mail app. Relaunch Mail app and go to Preferences - Accounts. With in mail, setup the Exchange account (Not from system Preferences). After you setup mail account, go to Advanced and uncheck “Automatically detect and maintain settings”. If you knew any other solutions for Microsoft exchange email sync issue, inform us via comment.

Ask your network administrator or local Helpdesk to see whether your account has Outlook Web App enabled. If Outlook Web App is enabled, ask the administrator or Helpdesk for the address (URL) of Outlook Web App. Usually, the address is in the following form:
https://<Domain Name>/OWA
Normally, you can find the Outlook Web App URL by clicking File->Info in Outlook.
Note
This feature is available on Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013. It depends on the server side settings.

Note
In most cases, the user name and password are the logon name and password that you use to log on to your organization's network or computer.
If you don't know your Outlook Web App user name and password, you should contact the network administrator.
