Use the same Apple ID every time and everywhere that you sign in to:
- Use Apple services like the App Store, iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, and more.
- Use Apple apps or subscriptions, like Apple Music or the Apple TV app, on some third-party devices.

- Use a Sign in with Apple button on an app or website.

Sign in when you set up your new device
When you turn on and set up your new iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, you’ll see a message to sign in with your Apple ID. After you sign in, all of the Apple services on your device will set up automatically.

If you already set up your device
Sign in on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Sign in to your [device].
- Enter your Apple ID and password.
- If prompted, enter the six-digit verification code sent to your trusted device or phone number and complete sign in.
Sign in on your Apple Watch
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
- Tap General, then tap Apple ID.
- Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
- If prompted, enter the six-digit verification code sent to your trusted device or phone number and complete sign in.*
* If you are already signed in to iCloud on the iPhone paired with your Apple Watch, you will automatically be signed in to that Apple ID.
Sign in on your Mac
- Choose Apple menu > System Preferences.
- Click Sign In.
- Enter your Apple ID and password.
- If prompted, enter the six-digit verification code sent to your trusted device or phone number and complete sign in.
Sign in on macOS Mojave or earlier
If you're using macOS Mojave or earlier, sign in to all of your Apple services separately with the same Apple ID.
- iCloud: Go to System Preferences > iCloud. Enter your Apple ID and password. Click Sign In.
- iTunes & App Store: Go to iTunes > Account > Sign In. Enter your Apple ID and password. Click Sign In.
- iMessage: Go to Messages > Preferences > Accounts. Enter your Apple ID and password.
- FaceTime: Open FaceTime and enter your Apple ID and password. Click Sign In.
Sign in on Apple TV
- From the Home screen, choose Settings.
- Then choose Users and Accounts and select Add New User…
- Select Enter New…, then follow the on screen instructions.

Sign in on a third-party device
You can use your Apple ID on some third-party devices to sign in to Apple services, like Apple Music, the Apple TV app, and more. On a PC, you can sign in to iCloud for Windows to access photos, documents, and bookmarks, or iTunes for Windows for music, movies, and TV shows.
Depending on your device, you might need to use an app-specific password.
